Acceptable Use Policy
What you can host here, and what you can't.
This policy applies to all Arcline Hosting customers and covers all services: shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and VPS. By using Arcline services you agree to this policy. Violations may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
What You Can Host
Arcline is a general-purpose hosting platform. We support personal sites, small business websites, blogs, portfolios, WordPress installs, web applications, and similar use cases. If you're unsure whether something is okay, ask us first.
Prohibited Content
The following are not permitted on Arcline infrastructure under any circumstances:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors
- Content that facilitates human trafficking or exploitation
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, or any malicious code intended to harm others
- Phishing pages, credential harvesting forms, or fraud infrastructure
- Content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights (see also our DMCA policy)
- Illegal content under United States law
Prohibited Activities
You may not use Arcline services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or operate an open mail relay
- Conduct port scanning, network probing, or unauthorized access attempts against systems you do not own
- Launch denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks
- Mine cryptocurrency (excessive CPU use violates resource fair-use policy)
- Operate Tor exit nodes or anonymization proxies used for abuse
- Engage in click fraud, ad fraud, or automated traffic generation schemes
- Resell or sub-lease hosting resources without explicit written permission
- Intentionally consume excessive resources (CPU, RAM, disk I/O) in a way that degrades service for other customers on shared infrastructure
Resource Fair Use (Shared Hosting)
Shared hosting accounts share physical server resources with other customers. We expect reasonable use consistent with a standard website or WordPress install. Resource-intensive applications (continuous background processes, large-scale data processing, high-traffic APIs) should be hosted on a VPS plan.
Accounts found to be causing performance degradation for other customers will be contacted. Persistent or severe abuse may result in suspension.
Email Policy
Sending bulk email from shared hosting is not permitted. If you need to send transactional email or newsletters at scale, use a dedicated mail service (SendGrid, Mailgun, etc.) and relay through it. Our mail servers are for transactional notification email only.
Sending any unsolicited email (spam) from any Arcline service, including VPS plans, is prohibited and will result in immediate termination.
Adult Content
Legal adult content is permitted on VPS plans only, provided it complies with all applicable laws (including age verification requirements where applicable). Adult content is not permitted on shared or WordPress hosting plans.
If you plan to host adult content, contact us before signing up to confirm your use case is acceptable.
Enforcement
We monitor for abuse reactively. We don't proactively scan your files. If we receive a credible abuse report or identify a policy violation through server monitoring, we will:
- Contact you to investigate and resolve the issue where feasible
- Suspend the offending content or account if the violation is serious or time-sensitive
- Terminate accounts with no refund in cases of severe or repeat violations
For DMCA takedown requests, see our DMCA policy.
